I first met my first cousin Marilyn when she was 17 and I was a newborn. (Her mom was the eldest of 5, and my dad was the youngest.) She and Alan were my first babysitters, and their faces back then are a permanent mental snapshot for me. And since then, I have experienced Marilyn as a kind, generous, sane, supportive woman of valor. When you were her guest you felt at home, and not only when my parents living room furniture first decorated their Berkshire home. She made being a balabusta look easy, and she did raise a village of mensches. She was also conscientious about staying in touch, which I totally appreciated.

I want to express my condolences to the entire Gordon Family on your loss of Marilyn. Although I was not able to attend Cousin Marilyn’s funeral I have been watching the very moving recording which was provided. Marilyn’s memory will forever be a blessing to all of us. She was truly a woman of valor.
