It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joel Gallof, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He passed away peacefully on April 23, 2024, surrounded by his devoted wife, Linda, and his daughters Laura (Scott), Katie (Benjamin), Melissa, and Julie (Russ). A loving brother of Steven (Carol) and Irwin (Sandy), he was also adored by his nieces and nephews. Pre deceased by son Josh.
Born on September 18, 1941, in the heart of Brooklyn, Joel’s life was a testament to the values of family, friendship, hard work and unwavering loyalty. Joel was a pillar of strength and warmth in his family, his role as a grandfather to Ethan, Austin, Mason, and Nora brought him immense joy and fulfillment. He was passionate about poker with his buddies, baseball, golf, and all things sports. But most of all, his family.

His quirky sense of humor and infectious laughter were constants in the lives of those around him. Joel had an unparalleled ability to bring smiles to the faces of everyone he encountered, making even the most challenging days brighter. Above all, he was a family man through and through. His devotion to his wife, children, and grandchildren was evident in every aspect of his life. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Special gratitude to Dr. Aghalar and the staff at NY Cancer & Blood Specialists and the entire staff at MJHS. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Cancer Society.

May his memory be a blessing.

So sorry to hear of Joel’s passing – I worked with him for over 20 years at Maintech & always enjoyed his sense of humor & talking sports with him. I knew he was a huge Brooklyn Dodgers fan & remember once giving him a yearbook from the ’50’s that I got my hands on. I hope he still has it & is enjoying it somewhere. Deepest condolences to all of his friends & family. RIP Joel . . .
