Following the interment, the family will return to the Becerra residence at 15 Fleetwood Drive in Farmingville where shiva will be observed until 8M and then continue thru Friday from 10am thru 8pm

OBITUARY
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and sister, Candice Joan Becerra. Following a courageous battle with cancer, Candice passed on May 2, 2026, in Stonybrook, NY. Candice was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Diane Corwin.
Candice “Candy” was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Roslyn, NY. She was a graduate of Roslyn High School. Her high school curriculum included a Tichon Ramah Yerushalayim semester living on a kibbutz in Israel. In 1978 Candy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Pathology from University of Florida, Gainesville, FL in addition to earning her Master of Science degree in Speech Pathology from Adelphi University in 1979.
Candy enjoyed a lengthy career as a Speech Pathologist in the New York area. Her teaching skills, combined with her deep level of compassion, truly improved the speech skills for many hundreds of students. Candy retired from the Central Islip Public School District where she was the recipient of many accolades and awards.
Candy was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time with her family and her many girlfriends. She is survived by her husband, Alberto Barrera, her son, David Becerra, and her brother Lawrence Corwin, along with loved ones including cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, 2:00pm at the Star of David Memorial Chapel, 1236 Wellwood Avenue, W. Babylon, NY followed by the Interment held at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY. See below for Zoom attendance details.
