Shiva will be held at the home of Debra Machado and family, 117 Pilgrim Lane, Westbury, NY 11590. Hours: after the funeral until 8 pm; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1 to 8 pm.

Barbara supported many causes, including wounded veterans, cancer research, children’s charities, and Democratic and pro-democracy initiatives; she was also an active member of the Westbury Senior Center.

OBITUARY
The glorious Barbara Gloria Rosenthal was born April 15, 1933, in the Bronx, to Philip and Fannie Nechin. She left us at the age of 93, on July 11, 2026. She was predeceased by the love of her life, her beloved husband Seymour Rosenthal, her dear brother Mike (Myron) Nechin, and her sisters Lois and Arline Nechin. She is survived by her dear sister Alice Greengrass; her children Evelyn Rosenthal, Debra Machado, and Robert Rosenthal; and her grandchildren Joshua, Jake, and Rachel Machado, Madeleine and Georgia Rosenthal, and Cadence Brinkley, along with cousins, nieces, and nephews, and all the partners and spouses, ex and current, of her children and grandchildren. Barbara was a warm, bright, loving person, filled with light and music, who brought kindness and comfort and laughs to all who crossed her path over the years. She will be eternally missed and gratefully and fondly remembered by all who loved her.
