OBITUARY
Anita Seigman, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a woman of extraordinary strength and resilience, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on June 8, 1933, and lived a life defined by perseverance, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Anita’s early years were marked by profound loss. She lost her mother at just 6 years old and her father at 23. She was lovingly raised by her sister, Daisy, who became not only her guardian but a second mother and constant companion. Affectionately known as her “schlep along,” Anita accompanied her sister everywhere, forming a bond that helped shape the strong and loving woman she became.
On February 11, 1960, Anita married the love of her life. Together, they built a family rooted in love and resilience. They raised four children—Larry, Michele, Lisa, and Stacey—and endured the heartbreaking loss of their infant son, Robert, who remains forever in their hearts. On August 1, 2006, Anita’s beloved husband passed away, a loss that deeply shook the family. Despite this, Anita found the strength to carry on, living nearly twenty more years while continuing to be the center and strength of her family.
Anita is survived by her loving children: Larry and Carolyn, Michele and Nick, Lisa and Michael, and Stacey and Cliff. She was also a proud and loving grandmother to her grandchildren—Jenna, Sean, Jesse, Jessica, Nicholas, Gabriel, Nicole, Michael, Lauren, Brett, and Amanda—and a cherished great-grandmother to Sean and Haley.
Anita’s children were her entire world, and she had a special way of making each of them feel uniquely cherished and loved at all times. She was a constant source of love, guidance, and warmth to all who knew her.
Known for her incredible resilience, Anita faced many health challenges in her later years, enduring frequent hospitalizations and illnesses. Yet time and again, she showed remarkable strength and determination, earning the affectionate nickname “the cat with nine lives” from her family.
Anita will be remembered as the strongest woman her family ever knew—a woman who gave everything she had to those she loved. Her legacy lives on through the strength she instilled, the values she taught, and the countless memories she created.
She will be deeply missed, but her love, her spirit, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family forever.
