OUR DIRECTORS
Kevin Gray
Kevin has been in the funeral industry for more than thirty years, beginning his career as a stock boy for his father’s small funeral home supply company. Over time, he founded a casket company that grew to become the largest provider of Orthodox wooden caskets in the country.
As the funeral industry evolved through mergers, acquisitions, and industry consolidation, Kevin sold his casket wholesaling company and recognized an opportunity to better serve families directly. He launched retail casket stores and expanded sales online, helping families navigate important decisions during difficult times.
Through this experience, Kevin discovered a deeper calling to support families with compassion and guidance during some of life’s most challenging moments. Wanting to provide comfort throughout the entire funeral process, he decided to pursue a career as a funeral director.
Kevin enrolled in Mortuary Science School, earned his degree two years later, and received his funeral director’s license in 2004. Since then, he has remained committed to helping families with care, understanding, and professionalism.
Andrew Novak
Andrew has been in the funeral industry for more than twenty years. He opened B’nai Sholom Funeral Home in Island Park, where he built a strong reputation and earned the trust of countless families through compassionate service and personal attention.
Recognizing a shared vision for serving families, Andrew and Kevin joined forces to establish a funeral home adjacent to the major cemeteries on Long Island. From that partnership, Star of David Memorial Chapels was born.
Andrew believes that assisting families during one of life’s most difficult moments is both a sacred trust and a higher calling. The loss of a loved one can be overwhelming, and he is committed to helping families navigate the funeral process with compassion, thoughtfulness, and attentive care.
While nothing can remove the pain of loss, Andrew strives to ensure that each family’s wishes are honored and that a difficult day is handled with dignity, care, and as much comfort as possible.
Christine Dyckoff
Christine Dyckoff has been with Star of David for over 10 years. Chris is a licensed funeral director who has risen to become our General Manager. She handles all the day-to-day needs of the chapel, assisting families from start to finish with the specifics of the services they have requested.
Once the preliminary arrangements have been made by either Kevin or Andy, Chris then takes over, handling all of the behind-the-scenes tasks a funeral home needs to manage in order to be prepared for the service.
We are especially proud of Chris as, in her never-ending quest to be a consummate professional and someone who can connect with our families and better understand their needs, she recently converted to Judaism.
She lives in Massapequa with her husband, Michael, and their two beautiful young children.
Jessica Guerrero
Jessica Guerrero has been with us for two years after having served her residency with us. Over these past few years, Jessica has proven to be a consummate professional and has become an integral part of our team.
Jessie’s role consists of just about everything, from transferring remains, preparing them for burial, including doing a fantastic job with hair and makeup, updating our website with service information, greeting families upon their arrival at the chapel, taking services to the cemetery, ensuring Zoom services are running, and just about anything else that is needed.
She has proven herself to be a tremendous asset to us and a great team player.
Jessie lives in Huntington Station with her husband and three children.
OUR PRICING PHILOSOPHY
Star of David Chapels understands the importance of providing pricing information that is easily understandable. With so much regulation in the funeral industry, we are required to attribute prices for every aspect of service we perform. This information is available on our published General Price List, However, because there are so many items listed, trying to ascertain from this list the bottom-line cost of planning a funeral is extremely difficult. The price for each specific service we offer is less important than the bottom line price you will be paying. When comparing prices among funeral homes, please be mindful of the bottom line and, always feel free to call us with any questions or concerns.
